The Last Song

I just read the BEST book in the HISTORY OF BOOKS! It's called "The Last Song" by Nicholas Sparks. I just couldn't take how good it is!!!!! I'm going to read it again, and a million times after that!!!!It's about a girl named Ronnie Miller. Her parents are divorced, and she lives in New York with her mother and little brother Jonah. Her father lives in North Carolina, where her mother unexpectedly ships them off to for the summer.
Steve (Ronnie's father) is a piano player, and was once a teacher at Julliard. Ronnie despises him, after the incident of him leaving them. Ronnie, lost in life, tries to avoid her dad as much as possible.
The first night in Wrightsville Beach Ronnie goes to the carnival that was temporarily set up on the beach. At the carnival, Ronnie accidently bumps into a guy playing volley-ball on the beach, spilling soda all down her shirt. This guy, Will, she soon falls in love with over the summer. After a dreadful encounter with some not so nice friends, Ronnie finds a loggerhead sea turtle nest. She calls the local aquarium, and Will shows up. Together they guard the nest from the dreadful raccoon.
The relationship between Ronnie and her dad grows, when she realizes that her dad does not want to make her life miserable, but that he actually trusts her, and believes in her.
It is a great book, that makes me happy, angry and sad all at once.
They are making it into a movie, which I am DYING to see. Unfortunately I have to wait until April.

A Great Vacation

This vacation was the best! Besides the fact that I caught my mom's cold, things were great. We got to see both my dad's family and my mom's family, and i also got to see my good friend Rachel. To top it all off, Mom made Toll House cookie bars!

Unfortunately though, when we got home, we found that our basement was flooded. Lots of our photos in the boxes have been ruined, some left out to dry. I hope that we can save it all. Well, that's all for now, ttyl

A Very Merry Christmas!

Hello everybody! I hope that all of you readers had a fantastic holiday season! Mine, was definitely not our traditional Christmas, but it was an interesting one. After our move to NJ, we have been visiting NH on a regular basis. Our friends and family are all there, (as well as my orthodontist.) This Christmas consisted of 7 and 1/2 hours of constant driving in the car. Our Christmas dinner was McDonalds. Isn't that sad? But after a long journey of being locked in our seats, we got to Grandma, Bubby, and Uncle Jim's house, where we will stay for the remainder of our vacation. I am very excited to be here, because I get to visit with my family as well as friends. Right now, I am actually writing from NH on my new laptop which I got for Christmas. Well, I should go, I going to visit with my family.

A Festival Of Trees

On Friday and Saturday night this week, the camp had their 1st annual Festival of Trees. It was amazing! Companies came together and donated trees in which they decorated and advertized their buisiness. The kids had a great time as well! They visited with Santa, went on hayrides and listened to some fabulous performances (one of which was my church choir! [: ) A children's center also came to do crafts with the kids!
Some friends of mine came on Saturday, and I was so glad that they came! Marilyssa was there, Sarah was there and Jade was there. Sarah wasn't there for long, but she was there long enough to have fun! Besides the chilly weather, the hayride was loud and grand! Judy led us all in carolls, and Marilyssa told some great stories, while we all were huddled together underneath layers of blankets! After our choir sang a contata, and we went on ANOTHER hayride, we settled down near the fire and told fun stories with Jason. We were out there for an hour just chatting! Eventually Sarah left, then Marilyssa until it was just Jason, Jade and me. It started to cool down even more and my butt was frozen solid, so we went inside to have dinner, then take Jade home.
All in all it was a fabulous weekend, and I hope yours was too :)

A Visit To NH

Hello All! I hope you are all having a wonderful, cool winter up north :) I miss the cold so much. It was about 70 degrees here today! I couldn't believe that I have the opportunity to wear shorts and short sleeves in December. It's amazing! But, I would MUCH rather have a cooler winter with snow. The other day I was listening to the song, "White Christmas" sung by Bing Crosby, and realized that I may not have a White Christmas. I hope we will be coming up there though, because I think I would DIE without being 'home for the holidays'!
I am coming up though, this weekend, to an orthodontist appointment. I get to skip school on Monday which is so totally AWESOME. You know what else is awesome? The fact that I get to audition to be on Disney or Nickelodeon!!! Yeah! We were listening to the radio in the car, and it was all, "does your child love to act?" yes.... "Does your child wish she could be in movies?" yeah... "does your child love to sing and dance?" YES! "Then call this number!" As a very spontaneous and spur of the moment thing, we called. Mom and I both figured that we wouldn't get through, cause who EVER gets through to a radio station? But apparently we did! And I have an audition in Philadelphia! Even if I don't get any parts, it will still be neat to say that I did it.
Thanksgiving was very fun this year. The Conneal's, who also work at the camp, came for a Thanksgiving dinner, and Mom baked her first turkey this year, which was muy delicioso! And of course, she made her traditional Toll House Pie :)

Mom has been a substitute for NJ. Everyday she goes on this stupid website, and clicks on "Available Jobs" every 20 seconds, find a job, and snatch it before somebody else does. (Which is really stupid if you ask me) Then, she goes to these scary inner-city schools, and gets beat up by a bunch of kids, then comes home and says she is never substituting again, but she would in a nicer school, then does the whole thing all over again with a different school. I feel really bad for her. She loves teaching, but all you substitutes out there reading this get what I am saying. Keep her in prayers please.

So things at school are good, Billy has been good, and I've been getting good grades, so things are somewhat swell for my situations. I have to gone now, so until I write again,
"Hasta Luego!"

Billy.

Billy. "Take a Picture, it'll last longer". That's his name. Billy.

Billy is a 9 year old Dennis the Menace, who is on my bus. We're buds. I used to sit with him on my first days of school, before I got promoted to the back, where I now dwell. Sitting with Billy was an interesting experience. Every day I listened to his stories of how he got lunch detention, or how he made farting noises at his teachers. Billy could talk for hours. He is a bundle of talking energy. Now I always had to sit on the outside, because Billy could not be trusted to be on the outside. Despite my efforts to help him be a good boy, Billy got sentenced to wear the safety belt. (Which is another thing about NJ. They have safety belts on their school busses. Hmm.). Billy soon found my weak spot (Wet willies and yelling, which he doesn't seem to be afraid of. Another hmm.) Jade (a very very VERY good friend of mine) got me out of my misery, and asked Nancy (the busdriver) if I could sit in the back with her. Nancy's response was "Of course, if you wanted to sit bck there this whole time, I would have moved you." Oh man! I would've gone back a long time ago if I had known this. Oh well. It was too late now.
Being in the back of the bus is so much fun. I've got all my friends back there, who all love to do fun and crazy things. It was like Wonderland. There's Taylor, who loves giving us the drama. Brittany who gives the music. Eric, who gives the comedy and yelling. Daimen (he's like 8) gives his smile and giggles. Matt, who loves telling the crazy stories. And me, who gives the laughter. We all together make up the back of the bus, and let me tell you, it rocks.
Today we got a new member added to our little family. That's right. Billy. I decided today that I am going to write a book about him. He is very hard to explain, but once this book is written, you will see what mean. I'm sure that this will not be the last that you hear of Billy.
Even though he drives me insane, he is really funny, and loves to make people laugh. We are buds.

Grading Time!

It's that time of year again! The first report cards go out! I hope everyone back home did great! I was very suprised to open mine and see all A's! I was very happy. I thought that I wouldn't have done as good as I did. I hope it was that way for all of them.
In Social Studies we are learning about the battles of Lexington and Concord. Mr. Bolland showed us a video called "April Morning". It was a REALLY good movie! I cried at the end. I love those stories from that time period. I think that they are my favorite of all. If you want to see what the battles of Lexington and Concord were like, then I HIGHLY recommend them. I also recommend the book, "The Secret of Sarah Revere" by Ann Rinaldi. Ann Rinaldi is a GREAT author, and I love all the books of her that I have read, especially "The Secret of Sarah Revere". It is like the inside story of Paul Revere through the eyes of his daughter Sarah.
Hope your report cards were good, and keep them up :)

Have a Happy Halloween :)

Hello All, I know that it has been a long time since I have posted, and I am very sorry. The reason for me not writing is because I have been very busy. That's right, I'm busy. I've been playing field hockey for a regional team of hockey lovin' girls, who will also go to Seneca, so I will be playing with them next year. Sadly, it ended on Sunday.
School has been good. Mrs. Levy keeps us working all day and all night. She really is a great teacher though. ALL my teachers are good teachers! I feel like I fit in now. I think that being the new kid and all, I was a mystery to them, and they wanted to check me out before they really got to know me. They have never had a new girl before, so this was a new concept for them. My friends are great people. There's Jade, who is by far the nicest one towards me so far. She is really creative, and has a great sense of humor. Sarah is also my friend and is really smart, artistic, and has a great sense of style. Jon reminds me of Spencer from iCarly. Enough said. There are others of course too. No one has been mean to me, or I guess in other words, no one is not my friend. The bus ride is my favorite part of the day. Since we are the "older kids," we get to sit in the back, (we have assigned seats,). It's great. We're all blasting our music, singing and dancing, and listening in on all Matt's gossip, and comedy segments.
Halloween was awesome. Sarah invited Jade, Veronica and me to go trick-or-treating with her in the back of her dad's power-wagon through Chatsworth. I dressed up as a scarecrow, Veronica a bumble bee, Jade an 80's girl and Sarah as Pippy Longstocking. We got TONS of candy! People even handed out cans of soda!?! We ran into Nick, Kalinah, and Taylor on our way too.
November is here, and I hope you have a great month! I hope to keep this blog more updated!

Getting Better?

Aremthings really getting better here for me?? I sure hope so. School has been a lot better. I have made a couple new friends named Jade and Sarah, and Jon. They are pretty much it for the social life. But as far as friends go, they are pretty awesome. I was extremely disapointed when I got my interim report card. Two B's. I think I set very high standards for myself, so when anything comes below an A-, I panic.
Halloween is coming up soon. I think I'm trick-or-treating with Sarah and her friends in the back of her Dad's pick-up truck.
I think things will get better soon!

School :(

I am not the biggest fan of school in Chatsworth. There are 13 kids in my class and 5 other girls besides myself. They have all been in the same class since they were in Pre-K so I really don't fit in that well. No one really has any interest or intention to be my friend. I really miss Kingswood and I realize how amazing that middle school is compared to what I have now. I have so much work it is not even funny. I have a total of 9 textbooks to lug around the school with from class to class. My back aches at the end of the day. I hope that it will get better soon.

2009 Labor Day Campfire

Oi. People here are just so ignorant and self absorbed. It is just ridiculous.

Labor Day weekend at the camp here means tenting out on the field. Every night they have a camp fire, and tonight, being the kickoff night the family was going to lead a campfire with songs and smores. We thought that the whole camp would come over like they do over there. So we get all set up Dad brings his guitar, and we all start singing songs. It was 7:35pm when we started singing. The campfire was supposed to start at 7:30pm. The only people who wound up singing was ourselves. No one came. To make matters worse, they went all the way around us trying to avoid us to go to the bathroom. There was this one lady while we were singing who decided to turn her back to us while Dad was waving her over and completely ignored us.

This is their camp, and on many terms they've let us know. And we know it all right. Passive aggressive behavior can be so hurtful and cruel to the person on the other end of the stick. On the bright side, I enjoyed a lovely evening by the fire singing with my family. :)

idiot people who think they can make a freak show of our camp

I hate those Wierd NJ people. Excuse me hate is not the right word here. I loathe and despise them. They have no business being here. They have put their videos on YouTube for the whole world to see. It is on websites and chatrooms and books and magazines. It is just DISTURBING. RAZZAFRAZZARZZLFRZZ!!!!

More Breakins

Oi. There have been WAY too many break ins here. Dan's precious watch and and turtle are MIA. Last night there were several cars driving through. I already wrote about the canoe incident. And not to mention the 15 cars coming here wanting to party. Plus I found another blog that has pictures of people down by the waterfront the date being December 30th 2008. Also someone threw the cross down at Green Cathedral into the woods. I'm really scared now that someone's going to do some serious damage.

I know that people think this place is haunted, but there is a logical answer behind all of them. See look:

A Haunted Pick Up Truck that is insane and will chase after you.
TRUTH: Tony drives a hayride with a bunch of screaming kids on it like a roller coaster.

A Vicious Dog That Appears Out Of Nowhere.
TRUTH: Sweetie Pie. A Beagle whom roams the camp and the woods around us who loves to run (and does not get along very well with Ginger)

The Green Cathedral which is haunted and used to be a human sacrifice place
TRUTH: The Green Cathedral is a place that the camp worships in. wow people. Human Sacrifice? Oh brother.

The Road of Circles that only will take you in circles if you go on it
TRUTH: Pitman Road. A giant pit at the end of the road that has a path around the side of it. But obviously there is a road to and fro.

ect

And the list goes on. It is just so stupid of people to break in here. It is against the law to trespass and they could get in serious trouble.

*Nancy Drew*

Oh my goodness the most scariest thing happened yesterday. Dad and I were just driving back from town when we noticed 4 teenagers walking up from the Green Cathedral. Now why would they be there????? So we parked the car and waited for them to come up to us. Their car, we had thought was Dave's (we saw it when we left) but really turned out to be theirs, so they had been here for a while. We thought that they were those Weird NJ seekers, because the other day, about 15 cars came looking for the Green Cathedral saying it was haunted or something. In fact a few weeks ago someone broke in and threw the cross in the woods. Who would do that?!? Anyways the 4 teenagers walk up to us and say that they were just looking for someone who works here. "That would be me" (go Dad!) Then they were like in shock until the guy said "Oh ok. We were just wondering if you knew of an old glass factory here." We didn't know that at the time that there actually used to be an old glass factory here, but we said no. I guess it was apart of the old Mt Misery town. Then they were on their way. Dad and I could so tell that they were either lying, or were the weird NJ seekers.

So the family went for a walk last night, to see if the Green Cathedral had been vandalized or if they vandalized any of the ropes course. The Green Cathedral seemed untouched, so we went down to the waterfront where we found a canoe and paddles out by the dock. Someone had taken them out without putting them back. But we couldn't blame it on the teenagers because we had no proof that they did it. Maybe it was Dan or Jason. How could we tell? They were not even on campus that afternoon. But it wasn't them.

On the way to the waterfront on the path from the Green Cathedral was a fresh water lilly. The only way to get a fresh water lilly is to go out to the middle of the "lake" and pick it out of the water. The lily was so fresh and new, and it didn't have one scratch on it. Yea.

14 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!

Ok I will admit that I am NOT the most patient person. School starts September 9th and I am sooooooooo anxious! Camp has been over for about 2 weeks, and I have been kinda going stir crazy. Marilyssa showed me a library which is good because I need to keep myself occupied. I love schedules, and this is the one thing about sumer that drives me crazy. There is no routine in the summer.

I don't think I am that nervous about going to school I mean there are only 12 other kids besides me that go there. What's to it? I guess the only thing I'm worried about is the question will I find a friend? Once again there are only 12 other kids in my grade. I don't know. And there's no field hockey either. There's horse club or chess club and I really am not interested in either one. But at Seneca...wow...

Seneca is the high school I would go to. It is like the high school everyone dreams of. They have got every sport, every club, AND everything else you could think of. It sounds like so much fun. On top of that it is a new school, so the building itself is just exquisite. If you don't believe me go to their website at lrhsd.org (or com???) then click on Seneca and check out what they have to offer because it is just AH-MAYZING! But I'll keep you updated ;)

fried????

What can you fry? What do you think of? Maybe fried chicken, or anything you get at Mc Donald's. Or even those fried green beans at Friday's. But what I'm talking about is WAAAY awesomer than that.

Fried Oreos.

Yup. fried OREOS! Who would ever imagine? And don't even think of saying "Ewww who would ever try that???" because they are AH-MAYZING! Trust me I was just taking a thankful bite. But everyone who had one wanted more and were fighting over them. April's dad was the fry master. And he didn't just fry oreos either. Uh uh. He was frying oreos, snicker bars AND twinkies. But I was WAY to stuffed (after having two) to have anything else. But these counselors were like fryaholics! They would eat 7 oreos then have a twinkie and then go for the snickers. (And these weren't the big eaters either) It was CRAZY! And wicked good.

Now I can say that I have eaten a fried oreo.

Haha Ian wanted me to try a "jersey chilly dog" but hopefully this will make up for it! (chilli dog? No way Jose!)

Camp Is OVER

Camp is over. YAHOO! I had a lot of fun! I finally get my own room back too. Judy's daughter Ana came to stay here at my house. So she Marilyssa and I all hung out together this week. (Well not together because they didn't get along all that well.) And my counselors hated me... but they never liked me, and quite frankly I didn't exactly like them either. But that is okee dokee, because I am not in their cabin anymore.

CAMP ADVENCHUR IS SHUTTING DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe it? Isn't that just the worst thing EVER?????? I can't believe that they are doing that. It is just so wrong in so many ways.

a fun time

I am having so much fun at camp. I have met new friends (YES!) and am learning so much really about life. Our camp director this week is a life counselor, and all the activities we do relate to the "reality" of life.

I cannot go in the water in the lake because I am allergic to duck-itch (most of you know that) (oh yeah and it's duck poop is what it is) So like always I did not go to the lake today, neither does Marilyssa (Maggie's daughter). So she comes over to my house. Judy was here too, so we could bring her downtown Browns Mills to get Diet Coke. We all had so much fun. We went to Rita's to get wouader ice. It was awesome. Then we came back and I played an ouasome game of Monopoly with Marilyssa.

Something to Do

Ok! I've got something FINALLY to do this week! Dad signed me up for "Reality Camp" which is starting Sunday. Luckily though, I get to do day camp because we live right on campus. I am soooooooo thankful for that because I get to sleep in my own bed! I am hoping I don't get the counselor who doesn't like me because that would be just awful. I try to stay out of her way. I guess the theme of the camp is all the major reality shows like 'Survivor', 'American Idol' and 'So You Think You Can Dance' kind of stuff. I just hope that we don't do anything too messy!!!

Today we are going to Michael's Craft Store. Mom wants to teach me how to do needle point cross stitch! I am really excited!

ToRnAdO!

We had a tornado come through camp!!! Poor Grandma and Uncle Jim were here too. I had just got back from my last performance. Grandma had just finished saying that: "It looks like the Wizard of Oz sky!". Then over the radio Meghan says that there is a tornado warning for this area. So Mom turns on the news and lo and behold was a tornado warning for all the places that we had just drove through including our town. Then Grandma suggests that we head down cellar to the only basement in the camp. We were up and down from there, watching lightning and thunder, hail, and a transformer blowing up. Wowee wow wow. What a night!

Seuss and Convents and Basketball

Hey everyone out there! Guess what?!? The play is this upcoming Wednesday!!! It is wicked crazy!!! I just got my costume too. It is so totally AWESOME. I'll post a picture eventually.

Mom is at a worship conference which our pastor is going to as well at Drew University. She has never left us EVER. So it is really wierd not hearing her at 5:00 AM, awake making a cup of coffee. This worship conference is ok she said. So I guess she likes it. I'm sure I'll hear all about it when she comes home. Did I tell you that she is staying in a convent? Yup. It's her and the nuns. And she has the same room number as the room that she had at the Catholic university she went to for a couple years in collage. Wierd right??

Dad's out taking pictures of the basketball game here at camp. It's campers versus counselors. But it's a basketball camp, so I guess they are pretty good!! I can't wait to hear who wins.

theater camp

Ok. I am not the biggest fan of this camp right now. They gave all the parts to the people who have been apart of them forever. And the one girl who is a beginner like me, is not even in the age group of the program. One of the girls can't sing her way out of a paper bag, or dance, which is the main thing that she is supposed to be able to do. Other parts though are perfect. I got casted as a "Bird Girl" which I am happy about because it is a group of dancing girls... who most of which can't dance. But that's ok, I'll live with them.

Mom is having fun. She is doing an awesome job at worship at Church. Dad is somewhat enjoying his job. It is much better than the last two weeks which were really stressful for us. Things are brightening up :)

Well I have to mark up my script. TTYL

Church

I love this church that we are going to :) It is so friendly, and everyone is a family there. They are mostly, well pretty much all older people, with only 2 kids in the Sunday School. There were about 15 people who showed up for the one service. Our pastor is named Betty, and she is a love. I guess it is normal for methodist pastors to preach at more than one church, which is what Pastor Betty does (2 churches). They had a party for us coming to their church today, and the fact that Pastor Betty is staying for another year. I had to sing the offeretory today, (thanks Mom), and now I am apparently part of their choir. We definately feel loved there <3. This one lady actually tried hooking me up with this one guy who is out of High School!!!!! Ah, no thanks and ew. But other than that I had a great time. Charolatte came too, because she didn't have any other church to go to, so she came with us. She is a staff worker here, and came all the way from Colorado. I just found out that she plays the bassoon!! Camp is coming in about 2 hours :) Oh yeah, and the person for the "Hair, Nails, Beach, and Bible" camp decided not to come, so now Mom and I are in charge of that camp as well. Did I mention that it is the same week????????

HAPPY 4th!!!!

Today is the 4th of July!! :) There is going to be a huge fireworks display at Fort Dix tonight!! I hope you are all going to the display in Wolfeboro!! Last year they asked my mom to play the bass drum, and she still can't stop talking about it!! Mom also made blueberry buckle this morning!! I can't wait to eat it!! The inner-city campers are leaving today, and the Jr camp, mom and I are directing starts tomarrow. I am so excited!!

Canadian Geese

Today, Dad had to go to bring a screen to the camp offices which is about 1 1/2- 2 hours away. Mom of course wanted to see the ocean. So as soon as we were done there, he drove us to see the salty waves crash against the rocks. Now we are no where near Canada, as most of you know, but there is one thing of theirs that is very popular here... Canadian Geese. They are EVERYWHERE!!! They even have a chain gas station named after them called "WaWa". We were driving when all of a sudden there are all these cars stopped, when we finally see what all the comotion was about. The geese were in the road. Tons of them just scattered everywhere. We got so close to them that you could actually reach your hand out the window and touch them. They wouldn't budge either. That everything was all about them, so Dad wound up driving around everybody.

That's not all. Yesterday mom and I went blueberry picking and oh boy!!!!!! THESE THINGS ARE HUGE!! They are no doubt about it, larger than grapes. I am dead serious. And they taste AH-MAYZING. The owners gave you buckets, (big ones) that you would tie around your waste and pick as many as you want. They were sold by the pound. We Goodwins now have WAY too many blueberries, so we froze most of them and are going to try to eat as much as we can, and maybe give some to Gene and Maggie at the office :) Haha!! Look how big these are!!

A Wild Day

Today, my mom and I went to have a meeting with the vice principal of our new school. We were very exciting, I was going to be tested, and Mom was going to check out her new room. But neither of us were expecting "a little shower". This shower wound up being a GEGUNDA thunder storm. We had no clue where we were going, and could hardly see anything during the downpour. We used "Bradley", our beloved TOMTOM (GPS navigator) to get us there, hoping that it would not be struck by the huge bolts which lit up the sky. Finally we made it there, and had a lovely vist...

The vice principal recomended a lovely bookstore down the street aways, and we thought that we should get the required summer reading. We never found the bookstore, but instead we wound up in Ghetto-land city area where the Hicitic Jew population lives. We were told by a friend of ours that if you were to step toe into this neighborhood, your car would be pounded with rocks... Well I am toe-heads, as blonde as they come, so I put my hood up and scrouched down. I was soooooooooooo scared!! Finally "Bradley" got us home, where we are snuggling under the comfort of our beds.

Greetings From NJ!

Hi everybody!! I miss you all so much! NJ is ok, but obviously not as great as NH!! <3 Things here are pretty good, we are all settled into our house, with the exception of all the boxes which we still need to unpack. Camp has just started, and you can hear them everywhere, along with the giant jets flying overhead!! This summer I will be doing a summer theater program, which will be "Seussical". I am sooooo excited!!

This really is an adventure, and I am enjoying it so far!
